San Mamés in green for Cornelia de Lange Syndrome

This Saturday, May 9, the outside of the stadium will be illuminated between 10.00 pm and 10.30 pm

Athletic Club joins the International Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Day to support family members, caregivers and people with special needs. It is important to contribute to the visibility of their work in order to continue advancing in research and early detection and consequently initiate the appropriate treatment and rehabilitation that will prevent complications and allow those who suffer from it to develop a good quality of life.

This genetic syndrome is characterized by psychomotor and mental retardation in pre and postnatal growth, affects several facial features and among other congenital malformations, the most frequent are alterations in the extremities. This rare and difficult to diagnose disease, first described by Dr. Cornelia de Lange in 1933, is recalled every second weekend in May.
