Ainhoa Tirapu will be training our young goalkeepers

Athletic Club has reached an agreement with Ainhoa Tirapu, great icon of the red-and-white goalkeeping for fifteen seasons, to train the goalkeepers of the lower categories. After announcing her retirement on April 28, Ainhoa, a reference player, after 358 official matches and being the captain of the team, has decided to undertake this new placement within the club.

Barañain’s team holds the unbeaten record of the red-and-white women’s team with 717 minutes without conceding a goal, a record that she beat in the 2015-16 season, when she won her second League title. Once the gloves were hung up, the future of the red-and-white goalkeepers will be able to learn from the one who has played most matches and seasons for Athletic Club.
