Training in Lezama has started

Athletic Club began pre-season training in Lezama today with individual programmes for the 24 players involved. The training session, which started at 17:00, was designed so that the Lions could train on an individual basis. LaLiga’s Covid-19 protocol states group training can only commence once the players have returned two negative results from PCR tests.

All players who took part in training today will take a PCR test on Friday morning and it is hoped that by Saturday -when the squad has a double session- they will be able to train in groups.

The 24 players involved in training are: Iago Herrerín, Unai Simón, Jokin Ezkieta, Iñigo Martinez, Yeray, Yuri Berchiche, Iñigo Lekue, Oscar De Marcos, Ander Capa, Mikel Balenziaga, Iker Muniain, Dani García, Raúl García, Kenan Kodro, Ibai Gomez, Gorka Guruzeta, Mikel Vesga, Asier Villalibre, Iñigo Vicente, Unai Vencedor, Jesus Areso, Oier Zarraga and Jon Morcillo.

The 24-man squad is completed by academy keeper Ander Iru, who trained with the first team on several occasions last season.

Peru Nolaskoain will train separately he continues his recovery from the right ankle injury that kept him out of Deportivo Coruña’s last fixture on August 7.
