Serrano and Urain join pre-season with the first team
The academy players will start training with the first team on Tuesday
From Tuesday morning onwards, strikers Nico Serrano (17, Pamplona) and Ewan Urain (20, Durango) will train with the Athletic Club first team. The two strikers have joined first team fold in order to participate in pre-season preparations under coach Gaizka Garitano’s orders.
Serrano scored 19 goals last season whilst playing for the Under-18s in the Divisíon de Honor. He also made his debut for Bilbao Athletic –where he will play in 2020/21– during the reserve side’s Segunda División promotion play-off match against Badajoz in July.
Urain also took part in the play-off against Badajoz after making a comeback from a serious knee injury which had kept him on the sidelines for six months. The injury massively disrupted his first campaign with Bilbao Athletic, especially after having scored 13 goals for Basconia the season before.
