The new season for the Athletic Club Foundation’s social projects began today in Ibaigane with the symbolic act of donating masks. The presidents of Athletic Club and its Foundation, Aitor Elizegi and Juan Carlos Ercoreca, accompanied by Goyo Arbizu, José Ángel Iribar, Andoni Goikoetxea and Eli Ibarra, oversaw this symbolic presentation to start the new season. Representatives of Utopia (Clara Campoamor Association and Integrando Foundation), Bizitegi, Gizakia, Zabaloetxe and Udaloste, some of the associations with which the Foundation collaborates in their social projects, have received a sample of these red-and-white masks that bear the Athletic badge and the Foundation logo. On behalf of the associations, Izaskun Gutiérrez, representing the Clara Campoamor Association and the Integrando Foundation, attended; and Ibon Olmo, from Bizitegi; Aitor Ipiña, from Gizakia; and Xabi Campos and José Carlos de Miguel, representing Zabaloetxe and Udaloste were also present.
The common desire of all attendees, represented in the mask, is that the new season can develop with relative normality, whilst always maintaining the sanitary measures established against the pandemic. The Athletic Club Foundation takes on the new season aware that it will be marked by the health crisis. Both in terms of time and in possibilities, Covid will be the protagonist throughout the coming months. The objective of the Foundation is to adapt all its face-to-face projects, both social, sporting and cultural, to this new situation with the least possible impact on the project’s objectives. To do this, it is working hand in hand with the different associations, foundations and institutions with which the Foundation collaborates in its project.
