The Primera Iberdrola kicks off on October 18

The RFEF have given Athletic Club Women a start date for the Primera Iberdrola 2020-21 season

Athletic Club Women and the other teams which make up Primera Iberdrola 2020-21 now know when they will start competing.

Initially, Ángel Villacampa’s lionesses planned to kick off in Primera Iberdrola on the weekend of September 4, however the current public health situation made that impossible.

The RFEF has announced that the top tier of women’s football in the state will begin on the weekend of October 18, unless there is unanimous agreement among all the clubs that it should start beforehand, with October 4 being the earliest possible date. This would also depend on the prior ratification of protocol.

With this announcement, Athletic Club Women will continue with their pre-season preparations to ensure they start the upcoming campaign -which includes the 2019-20 Copa de la Reina semi-final- in the best possible shape.

Iraia Iturregi’s reserve side, last season’s champions, will start in the Reto Iberdrola Norte 2020-21 on the same date.
