Garitano: “We are annoyed and upset”

Athletic Club head coach Gaizka Garitano said his side deserved to get more out of the game but that the scoreline is all the matters at the end of the day.

The lions lost 1-0 at El Sadar to an Osasuna side celebrating their centenary on the day of the fixture.

“The team worked well but the result is the most important thing and we’re not happy with it,” Garitano said at his post-match press conference. “We tried to take the initiative but they got the win.”

He added: “We knew it was going to be a close game, but we had the better chances.

“Today’s defeat hurts because we conceded a goal from the only chance they had against us.”
