The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed that this Sunday’s Primera Iberdrola fixture between Real Betis and Athletic Club has been postponed.
This follows on from Tuesday night’s news, in which the Lionesses’ match against FC Barcelona at Lezama was suspended.
After the health authorities became aware of one positive case in the squad, plus the existence of ten close contacts, the relevant footballing authorities immediately decided to postpone the fixture.
As a result and “in the interest of protecting the players’ health”, the decision was taken to also call off Sunday’s clash in Seville.
The RFEF and the teams involved will look to find a suitable date to reschedule the fixtures and soon as the situation allows for it.
