“I miss you, but I feel your presence.” The Lions’ message to fans ahead of the two Copa finals in Seville
Athletic Club has sent a video message to its fans ahead of the historic double Copa del Rey finals on April 3 and 17. Typically the video would contain a message from the fans to their footballers, but on this occasion the Lions speak to the fans, who, unfortunately, won’t be able to attend the match due to the pandemic.
On behalf of the first-team squad, Iñaki Williams, Unai Simón, Asier Villalibre, Yeray Álvarez, Yuri Berchiche, Iñigo Martínez, Raúl García, Mikel Balenziaga Oscar de Marcos and Iker Muniain address supporters, while expressing their feelings about the current situation: “I miss you, but I feel your presence.” This is the message the footballers hope to convey to the fans as Athletic sit on the precipice of a historic moment.
They know that you cannot be with them physically, but they know you are with them in spirit. And this idea is summed up at the end of the video.
