Midfielder Dani Garciá said sorry to the Athletic Club fans after the Lions’ Copa final loss against FC Barcelona.
“We have to apologise to the fans because these have been two tough blows,” Dani said after the match.
“Now we’ll try to finish off the season in the best way possible. There are points at stake and for this badge you must keep working hard to finish as high up the table as possible.”
Dani didn’t give any excuses after the defeat, admitting Barça had been the better team on the night.
“In the first half, although they were better, we went toe-to-toe for as long as we could. But we didn’t have enough in the tank for more.”
