Erika adds to her collection at the Museum

The soccer player has donated the jersey with which she reached her 400th official match as a Lioness last Sunday

Barely a week has passed since Erika Vázquez made her 400th appearance for Athletic Club. The Lioness takes her place on a privileged podium, standing alongside Eli Ibarra (413) and Iraia Iturregi (402). For the moment, they are only the only female players to have passed the 400-match benchmark and for that reason they have a special place inside the Athletic Club Museum.

After reaching the historic mark, Erika decided to donate the jersey she wore in the match against Eibar to the museum. On the shirt she left a small message: “With all my gratitude to Athletic fans, who have supported until my 400th match.” The matchday footballs with which the legendary striker scored her 100th and 200th goals for the Club are also on display at the museum.

The Athletic Club Museum, located inside San Mamés, contains pieces belonging to important moments in the history of Athletic Club Women, which was founded in 2002: Eli Ibarra’s kit from her 250th match, Iraia’s kit from the last match at the old San Mamés, Ainhoa Tirapu’s captain’s armband from the match at The Cathedral which broke the attendance record in Women’s football, as well as boots, pennants and, of course, league championship trophies.
