“We’ll look to get a win like in any other match,” Marcelino said at his pre-match press conference. “Elche have a lot on the line in this match and we have to compete because that’s our duty as professionals and because we represent a great club.”
The Lions are out of the running when it comes to European qualification, but Marcelino wants to see the right kind of mentality nonetheless.

“It’s a difficult moment, it’s the last game and what’s at stake is that honour, that ambition and that respect for the competition, the opponents and ourselves.”
Asked about the upcoming season and the fans’ hopes, the coach was enthusiastic, saying: “Athletic fans are always hopeful, because they love their team.
“On the pitch, we have to show them what they want to see, we have to show it in every game.
“We’re convinced the team will compete at a very good level.”
