Agreement between Rayo Vallecano, Unai López and Athletic Club

Athletic Club and Rayo Vallecano have reached an agreement for the transfer of central midfielder Unai López. The player has signed a three-year deal with the Madrid-based club.
In addition to a series of economic compensations, Athletic Club retain a first refusal clause on any future transfer of the midfielder.
Unai López came to Lezama from Real Sociedad as a 16-year-old. He went on to gain experience at Basconia and Bilbao Athletic before making his first-team debut on August 27 2014 in a memorable 3-1 win over Napoli at San Mamés. It was a victory which helped Los Leones reach the group stage of the Champions League.
With loan spells at Leganés and Rayo Vallecano in between, the player from San Sebastian made 93 official appearances as a Lion, and scored four goals.
