Gaztedi Sokatira Taldea to take ceremonial kick-off at San Mamés
The Biscay-based club, who won two golds and a bronze medal at the World Championships in September, will be honoured by Athletic Club this Saturday
Biscay-based Tug of War World Champions, Gaztedi Sokatira Taldea, will take the ceremonial kick-off before the start of Athletic’s match against Villarreal CF in Bilbao on Saturday night (21:00 CEST).
The World Championships were held in Getxo in September and the Bizkaitarras won gold in the men’s and women’s 560kg, as well as bronze in the men’s 560kg (with their B team).
Founded in Laukiz in 1961, Gaztedi has propelled Biscay to the very top level of a sport which has a long and rich tradition throughout the Basque Country.
