We joined two members of the England Walking Football team as they discovered what makes Athletic unique in the world of football
On the day the England Walking Football team came to Lezama to face the Basque Country in a historic match, we followed two visiting players as they got to know Athletic Club first-hand. From Lezama, to the AC Museum and San Mamés, English footballers Graham Collier and Trevor Hanson spoke to us about what makes Athletic Club special from an English perspective.
“As a professional footballer I came through the academy at Nottingham Forest before making my first-team debut,” Graham Collier said during the short video. “Seeing players come through academies is something close to my heart. To see all those young players at the training ground today was refreshing.
“I’ve played in and visited a lot of stadiums around the world, and San Mamés compares to anything else I’ve seen. I promise that I’ll be back, and I’ll be bringing my brother and my nephews.”
