Athletic draw Mancha Real as first opponents of the 2021/22 Copa
Athletic begin their 21/22 Copa campaign against Segunda RFEF side Atlético La Mancha on January 6 at 20:00 CET
Athletic Club will face Atlético Mancha Real in the Copa del Rey round of 32. The single-legged knockout tie will take place on Thursday January 6 in the town of Mancha Real, with kick off at 20:00 CET.
The rules of the draw state that Copa fixtures must always be held in the ground of the team competing in a lower league. In this case, Atlético La Mancha are currently playing the in Segunda RFEF, the fourth tier of domestic football.
The Andalusians are 14th in Segunda RFEF Group 5 with 18 points after five wins, three draws and seven defeats. It will be the first official meeting between Athletic and Atlético La Mancha. The game will be held at the Polideportivo de La Juventud.
Atlético La Mancha are the only Segunda RFEF side still in the 2021/22 Copa. So far they have knocked out DUX Internacional de Madrid with a 2-1 win and LaLiga Santander outfit Granada CF after a 1-0 victory.
