Athletic Club vs Villarreal CF: Practical information
Relevant information for anyone attending Athletic vs Villarreal at San Mamés on Sunday (18:30 CET)
*All times CET
This Sunday at 18:30, San Mamés hosts the LaLiga Santander Matchday 12 fixture between Athletic Club and Villarreal CF.
It is all set to be a special day, not only because two top-quality teams will go head-to-head on the pitch, but also because of the events that will take place on the San Mamés concourse before the game, with the Club introducing Athletic Plaza.
Below there is some useful information for all those attending the match at The Cathedral.
Athletic Plaza
From midday onwards, the promenade around San Mamés will turn into a fan zone. Inspired by traditional Basque town squares, there will be live music, great food, along with games and activities for all ages.
At 13:30, Basque rock group Gatibu will hold an acoustic set on the San Miguel Stage, while DJ Oihan Vega will get the crowd going before and after Gatibu's performance.
Athletic Plaza will also have a range of games mainly aimed at, but not just for, our little Lions: Three-a-side football, human table football, dribbling challenges, PlayStation, inflatable slides, a climbing wall, face painting and a badge workshop.
Stadium access
The gates will open at 17:00. Please try to arrive ahead of time so you can speed up your entry into the stadium, avoid last-minute crowds and enjoy the start of the match.
Access with membership card
Club Members can enter the stadium with their physical membership card or with their digital membership card, while Gazte Abonoa pass holders must use the digital card on the official Athletic Club app.
The QR code needed to enter the stadium via the official app can be found in the 'My Account' section and will be activated within a few hours prior to the match.
Don’t forget, if you cannot attend the fixture and would like to give up your seat for someone else, you have these four options:
- Give your physical membership card to another person
- Give your digital card to another fan via the app
- Temporarily give your membership card to the Club via the app or the website
