San Mamés tribute for our Under-17 world champions

Athletic Club will pay tribute to our Under-17 world champions - Jone Amezaga, Sara Ortega, Marina Artero and Eunate Astralaga - at San Mamés in the lead-up to next Tuesday's LaLiga fixture against Real Valladolid.

The youngsters will take a ceremonial kick-off in front of The Cathedral before the clash gets underway.

The four youth players have had an intense and successful year with the Spanish national team. They were runners-up at the European Under-17 Championships in Bosnia this May before going on to win gold at the World Cup in India on October 30.

To date, Lezama has produced seven world champions. Paula Arana, Nerea Nevado and Naroa Uriarte were Under-17 World Cup winners in 2018, while Ane Elexpuru, Clara Pinedo and Maite Zubieta lifted the Under-20 World Cup in Costa Rica this summer.

Fans attending Athletic vs Real Valladolid are politely requested to make sure they get to San Mamés ahead of time so they can take part in this tribute to our young Lionesses.
