Athletic Club to return to training on November 28

Apart from the World Cup players, the Lions will resume training at Lezama in two weeks' time

Athletic Club's men's first team is currently on a break due to the World Cup in Qatar but will return to work at the end of November.

The Lions beat Real Valladolid in LaLiga and UD Alzira in Copa in their last two official matches before major competitions were paused for the international tournament.

Over the next two weeks, the first-team players not involved in the World Cup will rest and recharge their batteries ahead of the second half of the season.

A date has been set for the first training session back. Ernesto Valverde's squad, with the exception of Iñaki Williams, Nico Williams and Unai Simon, will report for duty at Lezama on Monday, November 28.

Before returning to official competition, Athletic Club will host Chivas at San Mamés on December 11 at 19:00 CET. The fixture is part of the two-legged clash known as The Tree of Gernika Trophy, with Los Leones heading to Mexico in July 2023.

As soon as the World Cup is over, Athletic will play in the Second Round of the Copa, set for December 21. A week later, Los Leones will return to LaLiga with a match against Real Betis at the Benito Villamarín (date and time to be confirmed).
