All set for LaLiga 2023/24 fixture list release

This Thursday at 12:00 CEST, Athletic Club will discover their fixture schedule for LaLiga 2023/24, which begins on 11 August and finishes on the weekend of 26 May

A new edition of LaLiga is on the horizon. On Thursday at 12:00 CEST, Athletic Club will discover their fixture schedule for the new season.

With Deportivo Alavés' promotion we know all 19 of our opponents. The Vitoria-based outfit secured their place in the top-flight via the play-offs thanks to a last-minute penatly from our on loan striker Asier Villalibre.

Along with Alavés, two of the Lions' old acquaintances also return in the form of Granada CF and UD Las Palmas. The Nazaríes bounce back as champions of LaLiga Smartbank, while the Canary Islanders also guaranteed automatic promotion on the final day of the season. Athletic Club will visit Gran Canarias again after five seasons.

These are the 20 teams that will make up LaLiga next season: Deportivo Alavés, UD Almería, Athletic Club, Atlético Madrid, FC Barcelona, Cádiz CF, RC Celta, Getafe CF, Girona FC, Granada CF, UD Las Palmas, RCD Mallorca, CA Osasuna, Rayo Vallecano, Real Betis, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Sevilla FC, Valencia CF and Villarreal CF.

Ernesto Valverde's team will once again play at Montjuic, RCD Espanyol's home stadium until 2009. However, they will not be taking on against Los Pericos, who relegated to the second division last season, but rather their main rivals, FC Barcelona. Now that construction work has begun on the new Camp Nou, the Catalans have to play at the Estadio Olimpico.

Curiously, over the last five seasons, Athletic have ended the competition away from home. The last home finish was in the 2017/18 campaign, against RCD Espanyol.
