David Aznar has been appointed Athletic Club Women's head coach ahead of the upcoming season. The 43-year-old started of his coaching career in men's youth football before taking over as CD Tacón head coach in 2018. When Tacón was taken over by Real Madrid a year later, David became the first manager in the side's history.

In 2020/21, Aznar led Las Blancas to a second place and a Champions League spot. He was replaced by Alberto Toril halfway through the following season after an inconsistent start to their league campaign, although he had led the Madrid side to the Champions League group stages after knocking Manchester City out of the competition.

His first experience with CD Tacón was very positive, leading them to promotion to the top flight for the first time. In their debut season in the first division, a campaign interrupted by Covid, he took the team to a comfortable tenth place.

What's more, Aznar has coached in the youth ranks at Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Leganés, Alcorcón, Rayo Majadahonda and Getafe, becoming first-team assistant coach under Juan Eduardo Esnaider at the latter.
