Raúl García signs one-year contract extension with Athletic Club
The Navarrese will play his ninth season as a Lion and aims to become the most-capped player in the history of LaLiga
Athletic Club and Raúl García have reached an agreement to extend the contract, which was due to expire on 30 June, by one season. The Navarrese will thus play his ninth season as a Lion and will be able to improve his record of 338 appearances and 83 goals. This last figure places him among the 25 top scorers in the red-and-white history.
Raúl García is a classic in LaLiga. In fact, he is the third player with the most appearances, with no less than 589. And this season, he can aspire to surpass the duo that precedes him, formed by Andoni Zubizarreta and Joaquín Sánchez (622). Athletic is the club with which he has played the most games.

In line with the Board of Directors' approach to new contracts, Raúl García, who arrived in the 2015/16 season from Atlético de Madrid, has a salary structure with a variable component based on objectives.
