DIGI becomes official sponsor of Athletic Club Women

Both senior sides, men's and women's, will wear the telecommunications operator's logo on the back of their shirts

DIGI, the telecommunications operator beloning to DIGI Communications, has signed an agreement to become Athletic Club Women's official sponsor for the 2023/24 season.

DIGI thus becomes the sponsor of the first two teams, men's and women's, and their logo will appear on the back of Athletic Club's shirts. The sponsor will appear on the Lionesses's strips for the first time in their open pre-season friendly match, against CDE Racing Féminas  on Saturday 5 August

Ángel Álvarez, chief commercial officer of DIGI Spain said: "For DIGI it is an honour to support Athletic Club, as we share the values the club represents. This agreement, which extends our sponsorship, consolidates our relationship with the club and all its fans."

Likewise, Athletic president Jon Uriarte thanked the operator for supporting the women's team and highlighted "DIGI's commitment to the Club."

Commitment to Biscay

DIGI has a strong presence in Biscay, where it has a branch office with more than 200 employees. It deploys its own fibre network, Fibra SMART, the fastest residential fibre service in Spain, and PRO-DIGI, with up to 10 Gbps speed.

What's more, DIGI opened its first shop in Bilbao last May, a space of more than 100 square metres located on Alameda Doctor Areilza, less than 10 minutes walk from San Mames.
