Founded in 2014, Mulier FCN have since become Navarre's leading women's football side
In June 2014, days after Osasuna decided to scrap their women's team following the men's relegation to the 2nd Division, a group of parents, together with the coaches and some players, decided to team up with the aim of keeping the project going in some form or another.
Thus, in record time, Mulier Fútbol Club Navarra was born, forging a path for themselves during a turbulent time for women's football in the old kingdom, given of Osasuna and San Juan together with Lagunak's relegation.
Ever since, Mulier have not stopped moving forward, becoming the only all-women's football club in Navarre. Up to 24 former players have gone on to play professionally after taking their first steps at Mulier.
Mulier is an authentic academy club, offering young girls the opportunity to make a life in football. With nine different age-group teams including the senior team, the Navarre outfit have 125 players on their books.
Regularly getting involved with social initiatives, the club have become increasingly active in the local area and now have around 500 supporters. This is a great tribute to the work done by Mulier over the last decade.
Zugasti and Mariana
Athletic Club Women players Patricia Zugasti and Mariana Cerro, who captained the Lionesses in their 4-2 pre-season win over Real Sociedad, are perfect examples of the development process at Mulier.
The agreement between Mulier FCN and Athletic Club was signed in 2019.
