Athletic Club will face Aston Villa FC on Wednesday August 7 at Walsall FC's Bescot Stadium, with kick-off at 19:30 BST. This is the Lions' first confirmed friendly for this summer.
Unai Emery, who is in his third season in charge of the Villans, has completely transformed a team that next season will return to the Champions League for the first time in 41 years.
Last season, the Villans got the fourth sport in the Premier League and lost in the Conference League semi-finals against Olympiacos FC, the team that eventually won the competition.
August's meeting will be the sixth match between the two sides, who have met in two UEFA Europa League ties and one friendly:
