Athletic Club's first Castore kit for the 2024/25 season is now available in the online shop and will arrive in the physical shops this Friday.
When Marcelo Bielsa visited Ibaigane Palace for the first time back in 2011, he exclaimed in amazement: "But it's a metaphor for what you are!"
The coach was referring to the romantic way in which a historic, noble building of just three floors stood firm and true to its identity - Garena Izatea / Being What We Are / Ser Lo Que Somos - in the heart of the city of Bilbao and in front of the prominent Isozaki Towers and their 23 floors.
Castore's creatives have taken the iconic strength conveyed by Athletic Club's official headquarters and designed a first kit for the 2024/25 season that incorporates shapes and elements of an architecture that symbolises a whole philosophy of life.
The trace of the blades, squares and triangles present on the façade and interior of the palace is evident when you focus on the texture of the new shirt's colours. It is a tribute to a building that faithfully reflects the club's uniqueness in the world of football.
Athletic roots its pillars in the territory, maintaining values passed down from generation to generation, but without renouncing universality. In the same way, Ibaigane Palace is inspired by the traditional Basque tower-house and displays the beauty of the classic, but it also houses a modern iron skeleton, strong and resistant.
The abstract design drawn next to the legendary Zurigorri stripes emphasises the importance of the eye in appreciating art, both in architecture and in football.
Beyond the homage to Athletic Club's headquarters, the new shirt incorporates other notable new features in its design. The small, traditional Ikurriña on the back of the collar merges with the lion emblem: identity and character united in a single image.
The round neck combines black and white, and the socks have thin horizontal red and white stripes on the upper part.
Gorka Guruzeta, Iñaki Williams, Unai Simón, Dani Vivian, Nahikari and Irene Oguiza are the players featured in the launch of this new kit.
Training line 2024/25 on sale
The Lions training kit for the 2024/25 season can also be purchased online from today and will be available in retail outlets from Friday.
