The 2024 Thinking Football Film Festival starts tomorrow
The festival, which combines cinema and football, will last two weeks and will screen films with different social themes
Tomorrow, Monday 18, will begin the 12th edition of the Thinking Football Film Festival. The festival will start at 19:00 hours with the screening of the film “The Last Taboo” in the BBK Hall of the Basque capital. The film discusses the issue of sexual freedom through the testimonies of ten homosexual footballers. Among them is Thomas Hitzlsperger, appointed ambassador of the 125th anniversary of Athletic Club for his struggle for a more diverse, fair and tolerant football. Tickets are free, as always, you must make the booking here.
Thomas Hitzlsperger and Amal Fashanu - director of the Justin Fashanu Foundation, niece of the late former player and renowned British journalist - will participate in the post-screening discussion.
THINKING FOOTBALL: SOCIAL COMMITMENT
The festival, which brings together film and football, will start tomorrow, November 18, and will last until November 26; there will be no projections on the weekend. One more year, the films participating in this edition of the festival organized by the Athletic Club Foundation with the collaboration of Sala BBK will, in one way or another, tell stories about social issues related to the world of football.
Each day, at the end of the main screening, the Foundation will organize film forum sessions to discuss the film and the topics discussed therein. You can see the full programm of the Thinking Football 2024 on the festival’s website.
