Athletic to kick off Copa 2024-25 against UD Logroñes

Athletic Club will face UD Logroñés in the Copa del Rey round of 32. The reigning champions will start the cup competition with a one-off tie against the La Rioja side to be played on 3, 4 or 5 January.

Regulations dictate that Copa ties are always played at the team competing in a lower league. In this case, as UD Logroñes belong to the Segunda Federación (fourth tier of Spanish football) Athletic will travel to Las Gaunas.

UD Logroñés are currently third in the Segunda Federación Group II, in the play-off places, with seven wins, six draws and two defeats.
