Evesham United: Exemplifying community values in football
Formed by World War II veterans in 1945, the Robins have long been a source of pride and community support for the charming market town of Evesham
Evesham United’s 2025 Non-League Day fixture sees them take on Cribbs FC at the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium, with kick-off at 15:00 GMT.
The Robins are currently flying high Southern League Division One South (Tier 8 of English football), sitting in 2nd place, five points off top spot and going for a historic promotion that could potentially see the club equal the highest level ever in their history.
Adult match tickets are £10, over-60s tickets are £7 and junior tickets are £2.
The picturesque market town of Evesham lies between Worcester, Cheltenham and William Shakespeare’s Stratford Upon Avon.
The 3,000-capacity Spiers and Hartwell Stadium is located on the outskirts of Evesham. There are regular trains from Worcester to Evesham which take around 20 minutes and then it’s a 30-minute walk from the train station to the ground.
Evesham also put on free shuttle buses to and from the town centre, with three different pick-up points. More information here:
Raffle tickets for the Athletic Club tops will be sold during the Robins’ NLD fixture for €5, with the winners receiving their prize at the club’s Race Night that same Saturday evening.
As with all the other clubs in this initiative, Evesham invite any Athleticzales in the area that weekend to attend the match in the Athletic shirts as we celebrate our colours together.
Evesham United History
Evesham United FC were founded in 1945 by servicemen returning from action in the Second World War.
The club is a predecessor of Evesham Town, an entity whose origins can be traced back to 1891 and even reached the 1923 FA Amateur Cup final, losing to 2-1 London Caledonians in extra-time, but collapsed in 1938 due to financial problems.
The club’s nickname, the Robins, is also a nod to Evesham Town’s legacy, as are the club’s red and white colours, although the Town played with a fully red shirt and white shorts.
Evesham United took over most of the Evesham Town’s structures, also playing at the ground, Crown Meadow, until moving to Common Road in 1969 and then the Spiers & Hartwell Stadium in 2012
This new home was officially opened by former Aston Villa and Manchester United manager Ron Atkinson with a match between Evesham Old Boys and Man Utd Legends.
Evesham in the community
The club looks to play an active role in local society. Evesham have a women’s team, an under-18s side and walking football sessions in addition to running academic courses for 16 to19 year-olds looking to become qualified coaches.
Evesham United also run a pan disability football team, catering to players from four to 60 years old. This includes a programme called COMETS, which is specifically aimed at disabled children, offering them a safe space to play football, make friends, learn new skills and, most importantly, have fun.
The Robins' facilities also include a state-of-the-art cycling velopark, designed and financed in conjuction with Sport England and British Cycling.
Apart from that, the club organises various activities, such as bingo nights, quiz nights and business networking events.
What’s more, the club shop acts as a collection point for the Evesham food bank supporting families in the need across the region.

About Euskal Non-League Day
Inspired by the British movement, started by James Doe in 2010, Athletic Club Foundation is preparing a third edition of Euskal Non-League Day for the weekend of March 22-23.
Non-League Day is an initiative that connects directly with Athletic Club’s identity. Besides playing a crucial role in local communities, grassroots football is a fundamental part of the club’s youth development strategy and Athletic has affiliate agreements with close to 170 clubs across the Basque Country.
Athletic Club is the only side in LaLiga that organises such an event with the purpose of celebrating non-professional football and encouraging attendance at local grounds during the March international break.
Check out the Athletic Club Foundation’s website for more information about Euskal Non-League Day and all their other projects across the Basque Country.
