Athletic Club and MAX team up to promote second season of The Last of Us
The Zurigorri, the last romantics in the world of football, will wear the series logo on their playing kit for the match against Rayo Vallecano
Athletic Club will promote the much-anticipated second season of Max's The Last of Us, which is set to premiere on April 14.
The show's first season took the world by storm, reaching more than 30 million viewers per episode.
The series' logo will be present on Athletic's playing kit during our match against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday April 13. What's more, San Mames' façade will bear the logo from April 9 to 15.
Athletic Club president Jon Uriarte said he was "delighted" that Los Leones could "promote a series as globally influential as The Last of Us".
He continued: "The series' name is thought-provoking and perfectly reflects the uniqueness of Athletic's philosophy. We're the last team in Europe's five top leagues to still compete only with players from the land we represent, something that was natural during football’s origins as a sport.
"We're the last of the romantics, and just like in the series, we're fighting to defend our identity in a hostile landscape. This partnership reflects our commitment to innovate and grow Athletic's brand on an international level."
