Robert Navarro: ‘I am here to help with my work and humility’
Officially presented in San Mames, he will bring ‘versatility and quality’ to the Lions' attack
"Arriving at Athletic is a big step in my career. It is a very important project to which I come with the desire and enthusiasm to be able to contribute my bit. The confidence that was shown in me from the very first moment was the key."
Robert Navarro appeared in front of the media at the official press conference to present himself as a new Athletic Club player. The versatile player from Navarra wants to start working right now.
"I want to help with my work and humility, which I have always had. I'm really looking forward to working and being able to give back on the pitch all the good things that have been passed on to me."
With experience in the top flight and knowledge of different youth teams around the world, Navarro is ready for a jump to the highest level.
"I've played alongside many players who are now in the squad. I can play on both wings and in midfield. It's good for me and for the coach to be able to choose where to place me. I'm comfortable in all three positions and I'll try to do my best wherever I'm placed."
The newest zurigorri player was accompanied by the president, Jon Uriarte, and the director of football, Mikel González. Both agree that the addition of the player from Olloki will add talent to the team.
"Nowadays the rivals let us run less and give us less space. In that context, Robert is brilliant and he is also very fast. We think he's a piece we were missing, we've completed the squad we have at a very high level with one more outstanding piece."
