Athletic Club set for Champions League draw in Monaco

The league phase draw will take place on Thursday evening at 18:00 CEST and the Lions cannot draw LaLiga teams or more than two clubs from the same country

We will discover Athletic Club's eight Champions League League Phase opponents in this Thursday's draw in Monaco (18:00 CEST).

Athletic Club vice-president Nerea Ortiz will represent the club in Monaco.

The 36 participating clubs are split into four pots based on their UEFA coefficient over the last five seasons. The Lions will be in Pot 4 and will face two opponents from each of the groups, with one match at San Mames and another away. UEFA will confirm the distribution by coefficients on Thursday.

In this first phase, in which the top 24 teams in the league table advance to the knockout stages, Athletic cannot face the four other LaLiga sides (FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético and Villarreal), nor can we play more than two teams from the same country.
