Ibon Sánchez makes his Athletic Club debut

Ibon Sánchez has become the 655th player to make his debut for Athletic Club.

The 21-year-old played made his first senior appearance in Wednesday night's Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park. Sánchez came off the bench in the 80th minute, replacing Maroan.

"I'm very proud and very happy to have made my first-team debut," the midfielder said after full-time.

"It's been my dream since I was a child. To make it come true in this stadium, in this competition, and with Athletic, is a dream for me. I'm very happy."

The young midfielder has been at Athletic's academy since he was 14 years old.
