Valverde: “It's hard to win matches but we're motivated”

Ernesto Valverde reiterated how tough it is to win games in LaLiga whilst analysing an Elche CF side that are yet to lose at home so far this season.

Los Leones will need to be at their best to get a positive result against a well-organised team with a "distinctive style".

"It's always hard to win matches, but we're motivated to do so,” Valverde said at his pre-match press conference.

"Tomorrow we play against a opponent that's getting good results, playing very well and has a positive energy that's helped them have an outstanding start to life in the top flight.

"They haven't lost at home yet and are a difficult side to beat considering their strengths.

"Elche have a lot of possession and take risks when moving the ball forward. That's what sets them apart from the rest. We need to take everything into account, as they're very good at handling different situations."

We're returning to LaLiga action after an international break that has seen a few players, especially forwards, recover from their respective injuries.

Valverde added: "Every head coach wants to have all their players available.

"We've been missing some key players, and unfortunately most of the injuries are in the attacking positions. Luckily, we have some players back who will definitely help us."
