Useful information for Athletic fans travelling to Prague

A thousand fans will travel with Athletic to the Czech Republic to support the team in their Champions League clash against Slavia Praha

Athletic will have the support of around a thousand fans on their trip to the Czech Republic for the fifth matchday of the Champions League group stage, which will see the Lions take on Slavia Praha on Tuesday 25 November at the Fortuna Arena at 9pm.

In order to facilitate the travel experience and access to the stadium for the match, the Czech club and city authorities have shared the following guidelines for Rojiblanca fans:

  • Meeting point: The meeting point for Zurigorri fans will be Prague's Old Town Square, in the city centre. This is the central square, which is well connected and offers historic buildings, many restaurants and a large open space for the comfort and safety of Athletic fans. Whenever possible, local authorities recommend travelling in groups.

  • Prematch with Slavia Praha: Athletic Club, together with Slavia Praha, has organised an event for fans starting at 10:00 local time, with a programme full of values: Walking Football with Gaizka Toquero and Eli Ibarra as captains in the annexes of the Fortuna Arena, the planting of an oak tree and a third half of football twinning.

  • Youth League match: In addition, as on every Champions League match day, the youth teams from both clubs will face each other in the Youth League, this time at the Radotin Sport Centre, kicking off at 1pm.

  • How to get to the Fortuna Arena: Taking into account that the stadium is located almost 5 kilometres from the Meeting Point (more than an hour's walk), the authorities recommend that Zurigorri fans walk to Staroměstská metro station, four minutes from the square.

From there, an express train for fans will take Athletic supporters directly to Želivského station, close to the stadium. The city authorities warn that fireworks and face coverings are strictly prohibited on the way to the stadium and, of course, inside the stadium itself.

  • Access to the Fortuna Arena: Visiting fans will be able to enter through Gate 3 of the stadium from 7:30 p.m. Security checks will be carried out at the turnstiles. Please consult the stadium access rules. We recommend arriving well in advance to speed up entry, avoid last-minute crowds and enjoy the start of the match in a relaxed manner.

  • Support from Athletic Club staff: At the turnstiles assigned to Zurigorri fans, there will be staff wearing pink bibs and the Athletic Club crest. They will be there to help with any incidents or queries that may arise on arrival at the stadium and to facilitate access as smoothly as possible.

  • Athletic will not be able to provide support or assume any management or responsibility for tickets that have not been purchased through the Club's official channels.

  • Fans location: The section for visiting fans is located in the south-east of the Fortuna Arena and has a capacity of 1,024 seats. The section consists of three blocks — 119, 120 and 121 — with no barriers separating them. There is also a designated area for wheelchair users.
