Athletic will wear a special armband for World Children's Day
All of the teams in the Club, from grassroots to top level, will wear a badge with the slogan "We defend what matters, childhood at stake’"
On World Children's Day, a day that invites reflection on the rights, protection and well-being of young people, Athletic Club reinforces its commitment to those who represent its present and future. For the Club, deeply linked to generational transmission and the integral growth of its community, this date takes on special significance.
For this reason, the Club will promote a symbolic and collective initiative over the weekend: all teams, from the youth academy to the elite squads, will wear an armband with the slogan ‘We defend what matters, childhood at stake’. Athletic Club emphasises that defending childhood means defending our most essential values: the right to play, to be heard and to be part of society, ‘because when childhood is at stake, we all play’, as stated in the video broadcast on the club's official channels.
In short, this is a gesture that aims to raise awareness and highlight the importance of protecting children and adolescents, turning every match into a public reminder of Athletic Club's commitment.
This action complements the daily work of the ATERPE Programme, Athletic Club's Child Protection Department, which has established itself as a benchmark in the creation of safe, respectful and trustworthy environments throughout the Lezama facilities. ATERPE develops protocols, training tools and support resources to prevent risky situations and provide support to children, adolescents, their families and Club staff.
