Athletic will wear a special armband for World Children's Day
All Athletic Club teams, from grassroots to top level, will wear an armband with the slogan "We defend what matters, childhood at stake’"
On World Children's Day, a day that invites reflection on the rights, protection and wellbeing of young people, Athletic Club reinforces its commitment to those who represent its present and future.
For our club, whose values are passed on from one generation to the next, this date takes on special significance.
With this in mind, Athletic will promote a symbolic and collective initiative over the weekend. All teams, from the youth academy to the elite squads, will wear an armband with the slogan "We defend what matters, childhood at stake".
At Athletic Club defending childhood means defending our most essential values: the right to play, to be heard and to be part of society. "Because when childhoods are at stake, we all need to play our part", as stated in the video published on the club's official channels.
In short, this is a gesture that aims to raise awareness and highlight the importance of protecting children and adolescents, turning every match into a public reminder of Athletic Club's commitment.
This action complements the ATERPE Programme's daily work, Athletic Club's Child Protection Department, which has established itself as a world leader in the creation of safe, respectful and trustworthy environments throughout the Lezama facilities.
ATERPE develops protocols, training tools and support resources to prevent risky situations and provide support to children, adolescents, their families and Athletic Club staff.
