Useful information for Athletic fans travelling to Bergamo

Around 1,500 fans will travel to Italy to support Athletic in our Champions League clash against Atalanta BC.

Athletic will be backed by around 1,500 travelling fans when we face Atalanta BC for our Champions League clash at the Stadio di Bergamo on Wednesday January 21 at 21:00 CET*.

To make the travel experience and stadium entry process smoother, the Italian club and city authorities have shared the following information for Athleticzales.

  • Meeting point. The meeting point for Athletic fans will be Piazzale delgi Alpini, in lower part of the city's historic centre, near Bergamo railway station. Food and drink will be available in the square, as well as toilet facilities.
     
  • Shuttle bus to the stadium. There will be a special shuttle bus service for Athletic fans from the Meeting Point (Piazzale degli Alpini) to the entrance of the visitors' stand at the stadium before the match, and back to the same point after the match. This service will be free of charge.
     
  • You must use this shuttle service to get to the stadium. It's also been adapted for wheelchair users.
     
  • No fan march to the stadium is permitted.
     
  • Places to avoid in Bergamo. On the instructions of the Bergamo Police, the following areas  have been established as NO-GO ZONES for visiting supporters, whether travelling on foot or by public transport: The stadium's North Stand (Curva Nord); the stadium's South Stand (Curva Sud); the stadium's East Stand (Tribuna Rinascimento); Viale Giulio Cesare; Piazzale dello Sport; Via dei Celestini; Pub/Bar ‘Il Baretto’; Redona neighbourhood; Conca Fiorita neighbourhood; Borgo Santa Caterina neighbourhood; Via Corridoni; Via Bianzana. Furthermore, please avoid the Monterosso neighbourhood in the evening.
     
  • Fans are kindly requested to respect these restrictions for safety reasons.
     
  • Entering the Stadio di Bergamo: Athletic fans must travel to the stadium using the official free shuttle service and will enter the stadium through Gate 6 from 18:00 CET onwards. Security checks will be carried out at the turnstiles. We recommend arriving as early as possible to speed up entry, avoid last-minute crowds and enjoy the start of the match in a relaxed manner.
     
  • Atalanta BC security staff will check each fan's tickets and ID cards or passports. As tickets are name-specific, stewards may verify the identity of the ticket holder by checking the personal details on their passport or ID card.
     
  • Prohibited items: Photo cameras, power banks, iPads, laptops, umbrellas, flags with poles, selfie sticks, bottles and cans, glassware, fireworks and large backpacks.

  • Smoking is not permitted in the Stadio di Bergamo
     
  • Support from Athletic Club staff: At the turnstiles assigned to Athletic Club supporters, there will be staff wearing pink bibs bearing the Athletic Club crest. They will be there to help with any incidents or queries that may arise on arrival at the stadium and to facilitate access as smoothly as possible.
     
  • Athletic will not be able to provide support or assume any administration or responsibility for tickets that have not been purchased through our official channels.
