Tribute to partner clubs that developed Athletic's 2025 debutants

For our match against Elche CF, Athletic Club have invited representatives from the partner clubs that were involved in the development of our 2025 first-team debutants: Alejandro Rego, Asier Hierro, Ibon Sánchez, Endika Buján and Selton Sánchez.

The clubs hosted at San Mames were Barakaldo CF, Baskauri F.E.A.D., CD Getxo, Danok Bat, Romo FC, Santutxu FC, SD Indautxu y la UD San Miguel

Rego played for both Santutxu FC and SD Indautxu before joining Lezama, Hierro got a start at his hometown team Baskauri F.E.A.D, Sánchez, honed his skills at CD Getxo and Romo FC, Buján stood out at Danok Bat and Barakaldo CF before joining Bilbao Athletic, while Selton took his first steps at UD San Miguel, the local team in his neighbourhood.

This is the third consecutive year that Athletic Club has held this initiative aimed at strengthening ties with our partner clubs and highlighting their fundamental role in our player development process.

Before the match began, representatives from the aforementioned clubs received a gift from Athletic Club in San Mamés's presidential box. After the fixture, they reunited with Rego and Selton, the now players who came to their clubs with a dream of one day making a debut at The Cathedral.
