Valverde: "There's a lot at stake"
The gaffer is well aware that the team’s priority is "to secure the three points by any means"
"There’s a lot at stake. We don’t have enough points to feel comfortable. The priority is to get three points, whatever it takes", said Ernesto Valverde ahead of tomorrow’s match against Marcelino’s Villarreal CF.
A team which, according to the manager, is "a tough and tricky opponent because they’re very solid – one of the best counter-attacking teams in Europe."
Valverde was categorical: "I’m only focusing on tomorrow’s match. I’m not looking any further ahead. That’s what we have to do."
"At San Mamés, we’re a powerful and strong team, and with the support of our fans, this has to be felt."
“When you’ve lost, you’re desperate to bounce back and get your own back. We have the chance tomorrow and we have to go for it."
"There’s no point in looking at the other results," he continued. "The only thing that counts is winning. You have to give it your all on the pitch.”
