Pamplona born, Prados arrived at Lezama via feeder side Txantrea in 2015-16. After playing for the Under-18s and Basconia, he made the jump to Bilbao Athletic in 2019/20.  After a successful loan spell with Segunda División outfit CD Mirandés in 2022/23, he made a first-team breakthrough in 2023/24.

He has since become a consistent presence in Athletic's midfield. What's more, his adaptabilty and tactical intelligence means he can play at centre mid, centre-back or right-back. Beñat's contract runs until 2031.
