Gorka has returned to Athletic Club after a spell in LaLiga Smartbank with CE Sabadell and SD Amorebieta. In 2021-22, Guruzeta scored 12 goals with the latter, putting in some impressive performances which made Athletic decide to trigger his buy-back option.
He mostly plays a centre forward, but can also do a job behind the striker. What's more, 'Guru' is a great finisher, capable of scoring goals with his head and both feet.
He first arrived at the Club as a 17-year-old from Antiguoko, going on to score 48 goals between Basconia and Bilbao Athletic, 31 of them for the B team.
Guruzeta, 25, made nine appearances as a Lion in the 2018-19 season, scoring a goal in a Copa tie against Sevilla FC.
