A powerful right-back, Jesus gained significant experience at Lezama with Bilbao Athletic, playing 79 matches before he turned 21. He decided to leave Athletic for CA Osasuna, where he played 86 matches, in addition to a year on loan at Burgos CF.

The Lions re-signed the defender to replace the retiring Oscar de Marcos, with Jesus signing a contract until 2031.

Areso possesses a lot stamina and is more than happy to spend 90 minutes running up and down the right flank. After a tough 2025/26, he's approaching the new campaign with renewed vigour under the guidance of Edin Terzić.
