Agirrezabala

Julen was a key figure as Athletic ended their 40-year wait to win the Copa. The young goalkeeper was fantastic throughout the run to the final and produced a superb performance in the showdown in Seville, which included a vital save in the penalty shootout.

Agirrezabala joined Athletic Club from Antiguoko in 2018/19. A confident shotstopper and strong in the air, Julen stands out most for his quick reflexes.

After playing for the Under 18s and Basconia, the goalkeeper quickly moved up to Bilbao Athletic, where he made a total of 40 appearances. In 2021-22, he got his first taste of senior football in LaLiga.

A regular and reliable presence between the sticks for Athletic, Julen was also part of the Spain squad that finished runners-up in the 2023 European Under-21 championships.
