Oihan Sancet is one the latest attacking talents to come through the Lezama Academy. He broke onto the first-team scene in 2019-20, making 19 senior appearances that season, and Athletic Club fans are now starting to see this young starlet fulfil his potential.
Another squad member from the province of Navarre, Oihan joined Athletic as a 15-year-old back in 2015-16. With a major injury in 2018-19 aside, the attacking midfielder progressed through the ranks and in 2019-20 he made his debut as a Lion in the first game of the season against FC Barcelona.
Sancet has developed into a top-class attacking midfielder. A physical player with a burst of pace, a powerful shot and an eye for a pass, Oihan also has great tactical nous and loves to make intelligent runs into the box.
His equaliser in last season's Copa final against RCD Mallorca was one of the most important goals in our club's history.

Oihan delighted the San Mames faithful when he announced a new-long term deal after a LaLiga clash at The Cathedral. This new contract will keep him in Bilbao until 2032.
