A central midfielder turned centre-back, Peru made a goal-scoring debut for Athletic Club against CD Leganés under Eduardo Berizzo in 2018-19. Peru went on to make a further 10 first-team appearances that season. 

He arrived at Lezama in 2015-16 via the famed Gipuzkoa-based feeder team Antiguoko. 

In 2019-20, Peru went out on loan to Deportivo La Coruña in search of more minutes on the pitch. Although the Galician side were relegated, the experience and playing time did wonders for Peru. 

He returned to the first team for the 2020-21 season, but injuries meant he struggled to break into the side. In the 2021-22 winter transfer window, he went out on loan to SD Amorebieta, where he made 17 appearances in the LaLiga Smartbank. Last year, he spent the second half of the campaign with SD Eibar, helping the Basque side in their drive for promotion.

Now Peru is back at Lezama and will be looking to establish his place in the side, whether that be as defender or midfielder.
