Raúl García signed for Athletic Club in 2015-16 and has become one of the most beloved figures in the club’s recent history. Athletic Club fans love a footballer who is ready to put everything on the line for the badge, and few players are more committed to the cause than 'Rulo'.

Raúl has line up as an attacking midfielder for most of his career, but he is more than capable of playing upfront or further back in the midfield. He’s a strong and combative footballer who plays the game at full throttle and occasionally gets under the skin of opponents. He’s equally as adept at scoring goals as he is at creating them and has bagged 80 goals in 296 matches for Athletic.

García started off his footballing career at hometown club Osasuna, he then spent nine seasons (including going back to Osasuna on loan) at Atlético Madrid before coming to Athletic Club.
He is a real leader in the dressing room and on the pitch, and he seems to be getting better with age.

In 2019-20, he recorded his career-best tally of 15 goals in 35 games. This included some sensational goals such as the left-footed chip against Real Sociedad on Matchday three and the thunderous left-footed strike against Valencia CF on June 1.

Despite being 37 years old, Raúl continues to be a crucial player for Athletic, both on and off the pitch.
