Another serious talent to emerge from Lezama, Unai Gómez made his official senior debut in our LaLiga 2023-24 opener against Real Madrid at San Mames. A couple of weeks later, the life-long Athletic fan got his first goal as Lion when he netted in our 4-2 win over Real Betis in Bilbao.
While he still has a lot to learn at the elite level, the enthusiastic midfielder has already become an important part of Ernesto Valverde's squad. The attacking midfielder recently signed a new contract, which will keep him at Athletic until 2028.
