Another serious talent to emerge from Lezama, Unai Gómez made his official senior debut in our LaLiga 2023/24 opener against Real Madrid at San Mames. A couple of weeks later, the lifelong Athletic fan got his first goal as a Lion when he netted in our 4-2 win over Real Betis in Bilbao.

Thanks to his aggressive style and keen eye for goal, the enthusiastic midfielder has already become an important part of Ernesto Valverde's squad.

Unai's current contract will keep him at Athletic until 2028.
