Another serious talent to emerge from Lezama, Unai Gómez was training with the first-team for most of last season, but made his official senior debut in our LaLiga 2023-24 opener against Real Madrid at San Mames. A couple of weeks later, the life-long Athletic fan got his first goal as Lion when he netted in our 4-2 win over Real Betis in Bilbao.

While he still has a lot to learn at the elite level, the enthusiastic midfielder has already proven he can have an impact and become an important part of Ernesto Valverde's squad.
