Athletic beat a tough rival. Nekane, Murua, and Orueta from the penalty line, scored for Athletic. The first goal was scored in the 37th minute by Las Rojiblancas coached by Juan Luis Fuentes. Olabarrieta sent a nice pass and Nekane scored. Rayo tied the match in a confusing play. The referee´s assistant raised his flag but the referee didn´t stop the play, and Rayo scored a goal. Murua and Olabarrieta scored the other two goals for Athletic. It was an important win and the points remained in Lezama.

In the very beginning it was clear that both teams were trying to control the match. Athletic admitted Ibarra, who has finally recovered from an injury that kept her out for several weeks. Rayo, fourth in the overall standings, demonstrated quality play. Flaviano in the 14th and 21st minute tried to score with long shots.

In the 32nd minute, Natalia almost scored but her shot went out by a short margin. Three minutes later, Nekane´s shot was blocked by Rayo´s goalkeeper. In the 37th, a first goal for Athletic was scored. A good play between Orueta and Ibarra enabled them to reach Rayo´s defensive line, shifted the ball to Olabarrieta, who in turn sent a nice pass to Nekane. Nekane danced around the goalkeeper and scored.

After the first half, Athletic felt comfortable with their one goal advantage and Rayo was not showing any sort of ambition, but in the 57th minute, Rayo tied the match. The assistant raised the flag indicating an offside, but the referee allowed the play to continue and Ale, with a perfect shot, tied the match.

Athletic didn´t give up and with the support of the fans, they continued attacking. Erika almost scored, but her shot went outside. In the 72nd minute, Nekane sent an excellent pass to Orueta, who kicked the ball, the goalie couldn´t block it and Irune Murua shot to goal. Second goal of the match for Athletic! The referee disallowed two goals, one for Las Rojiblancas and one for Rayo. In the 86th minute of the match, the last goal presented itself. Erika fought hard to control the ball, but she was taken down and a penalty kick was called. Orueta scored the penalty kick.
