The Athletic Club Board of Directors, in a meeting held on February 12, 2015, has agreed to resign and appoint a Management Committee which, in accordance with the provisions of Title V of the Electoral Regime, articles 65 and the following in the Statutes of the Club, has decided to call elections for President and the Board of Directors, notifying the Members of the Club, in accordance with article 71 of the Statutes, of the following information:
The number of members for each Candidacy will be odd and it will be decided by the Candidacy itself between a minimum of 11 and maximum of 21 members, as provided for in article 36 of the Statutes.
To be a candidate for President or member of the Board it is necessary to meet the conditions set out in Article 66 of the Statutes, namely:
a) To have reached the age of majority.
b) To be in full exercise of civil rights.
c) To not be subject to any sanction that disqualifies them from holding executive office.
d) To not hold an executive position at another football club, nor be active as a player, referee, coach/manager or member of the technical staff of another club at the time of standing as a Candidate.
e) To have been a member of the club for an uninterrupted period of one year.
They voters will be Numbered Members who meet the following requirements:
a) To have reached the age of majority.
b) To be in full exercise of civil rights.
c) To not have suspended your membership when the elections are called.
d) To have been a member of the club for an uninterrupted period of one year.
e) To be on the Electoral Roll.
It is noted, for the purposes of the constitution of the electoral board, that it is not necessary to hold a public draw for the appointment of its members, as the one constituted formally at the meeting held on July 14, 2014 is in force, in accordance with the provisions of article 72º of the Statutes of the Athletic Club, subject to a draw before a notary on June 27, 2014, and documented in minutes number 936 under the protocol of the Notary of Bilbao, Mr. Vicente María del Arenal Otero.
The Electoral Roll will be displayed in the Member Services Office of the Club, located at Alameda de Mazarredo 23, Palacio de Ibaigane, from February 17 to February 21, 2015.
The deadline for members to lodge complaints in relation to the Electoral Roll will end on February 26, 2015. Complaints may be lodged by writing to the electoral board and may be sent by registered mail or delivered directly to the headquarters of the Club.
The resolution of complaints by the electoral board in relation to the Electoral Roll will take place on March 2, 2015, and will be communicated in writing to the complainant at the address contained in the files of the Club. Likewise, on March 2, 2015, people who have not paid their annual membership fee for 2015 will be removed from the Register of Members and, where applicable, they will not be able to take part in the electoral process, either by endorsing a candidacy or voting.
The period for submission of nominations will begin on Thursday, February 26 and end on Saturday, March 7, at midnight.
Nominations will be admitted that are promoted by at least a 5% of the members with a right to vote. Endorsements of candidates will only be considered valid on the official forms issued by the Club, which, in addition to their signature, should contain the name, surname, national ID number and member code, accompanied by a photocopy of the national ID number in force, with this documentation having to be approved by the Electoral Board. In relation to each electoral procedure, any endorsement of a candidacy presented in documentation other than that officially approved by the electoral board and issued by the Club, or collected outside the period set out in article 73 of the Statutes of the Club will be declared null and void.
The announcement of candidates will be made by the electoral board on Thursday, March 12, at 6:00 p.m. and they will be published on the message board of the Club for 7 days, up to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19.
Voting will be held at the headquarters of Athletic Club, at Palacio de Ibaigane, Alameda de Mazarredo 23, in Bilbao, on Friday, March 27, all day between 9:00 a.m and 9:00 p.m.
There will be a total of at least 21 ballot boxes, with at least 20 of them being used for voting in person and the remainder for voting by mail.
To exercise the right to vote, the voters must identify themselves with either their national ID card or passport in force.
