Last La Liga match with a victory

The Athletic Club women’s team finished the league competition with a victory against Sant Gabriel. V. Gimbert, from the penalty spot, and Nekane were the red-and-white goalscorers.

It was not a match with a great number of chances on goal. Athletic Club dominated a match at Lezama against a side playing for survival in the division, in which the red-and-whites, who cannot now get second place, are focused on La Copa next weekend. The first attacks on the area by Brigid came from set plays, but with little luck with the shots.

In the 25th minute, Turrbo pushed Nekane inside the area when the red-and-white goalscorer was about to head home a cross from Ibarra from the left. V. Gimbert took charge of the penalty and Juan Luis Fuentes’ side went ahead.
